Trump taxpayer-funded ads draw lawsuits and continue after court-ordered cancellation
The Department of Homeland Security committed USD 20 million to the Trump advertising campaign.
The DNC and Common Cause sued over television ads promoting Trump, alleging illegal government propaganda and misuse of DHS funds. A federal judge ordered the remaining ads taken down, but they continued airing; NPR estimates nearly $22 million in taxpayer spending.
