Argentina’s statistics agency INDEC reported that poverty reached 32.3 percent in the first half of 2026, up from 28.2 percent in late 2025. Extreme poverty and unemployment also increased, with children particularly affected; the UCA estimated poverty could reach 35 percent by year-end.
