Supreme Court allows continued US third-country deportations
The Supreme Court lifted restrictions on Trump administration third-country deportations while agreeing to hear the case in December. The lower court had required effective notice and a chance to raise persecution concerns; more than 25,000 people have been affected, and Burundi joined at least 35 countries with agreements.
Refugees International and Human Rights First counted more than 25000 people deported by the Trump administration to countries that were not their own.
